The Valk is an open sailing boat designed in the 1940s by Van der Stadt on behalf of Bruynzeel. The Bruynzeel company wanted to demonstrate the water resistance of their Multiplex by building a boat out of it. The result was the now iconic look of this boat with its multi-chine hull. In the 1970s, the design was modified to allow for construction in polyester. This opportunity was taken to make the Valk more suitable for sailing with groups of 5 to 6 people. The polyvalk has a slightly lower freeboard and is wider than the original Valk. This makes the boat more suitable for rental and sailing lessons, but it has slightly compromised sailing characteristics. The Hoora Valk is by far the best sailing polyvalk available, which is why we have chosen it for our rental fleet. We rent out the Polyvalks per day including an outboard motor. For a carefree day of sailing, we also provide life jackets for children and adults. If you wish to use them, please indicate this when making your reservation.
